ICERAYS HIRE DREW STEELE AS NEW DIRECTOR OF BROADCASTING AND MEDIA RELATIONS

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays have named Drew Steele as the organization’s new Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations.

Steele is thrilled to join the organization saying, “I’m extremely excited to become a member of the IceRays family.  I cannot wait to get my feet on the ground in Corpus Christi and get started on what looks to be a great future ahead with the IceRays.”

Steele, a Pine City, Minnesota native, most recently served as Sports Director at KVSC in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  At KVSC, he broadcasted St. Cloud State University men’s and women’s hockey.  Steele, a recent graduate of SCSU, had the opportunity to broadcast SCSU’s NCAA Tournament run to the Frozen Four and National Championship game.  While at KVSC, Steele also broadcasted SCSU and area high school sports including baseball, football, softball, basketball, and soccer.  Steele was also a mainstay on the station’s weekly sports talk show, Sidelines.

Steele has also worked with WCMP in his hometown broadcasting high school sports and interning at the station this summer.  His role at WCMP included being the voice of Pine City Dragon Football over the past two seasons and calling high school hockey, softball, and baseball in the winter and spring.

Steele spent time in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) working with the St. Cloud Norsemen as the team’s public address announcer during the 2020-21 campaign.

Prior to 2021, Steele worked with Youth Hockey Hub as a producer of their boy’s high school hockey podcast.  He also served as a panelist and worked behind the scenes on Crunch Time at UTVS from 2019-2020.
