Corpus Christi, TX (March 29th, 2023) – The Corpus Christi IceRays’ next game is tomorrow, Thursday, March 30th, 2023 at the American Bank Center. Puck drops at 9:30 AM CDT against the Amarillo Wranglers.
Game Preview
After nearly a month on the road, the IceRays return to home ice as they host the Amarillo Wranglers for a two-game set to close out the season series. Tomorrow will be the IceRays annual school day game with puck drop just after 9:30 AM. It will be the third meeting within the last seven days between the two clubs.
The IceRays are 1-4-1 against the Wranglers this year after falling by scores of 7-1 and 7-3 last weekend. They have now allowed seven goals in three consecutive games against Amarillo. The IceRays are 11-36-6-1 with 29 points coming into the two-game set.
The Wranglers sit just four points outside a playoff spot and are 6-4 in their last 10 games. They check in at 28-23-2-1 overall with 59 points.
Players to Watch
Nils Forselius scored three goals for the IceRays last weekend and continues his torrent pace offensively. The Guilford, CT native has seven points over his last four games and has totaled 16 points in his first 20 games with the team. Look for the West Point-commit to be a factor again this weekend for the IceRays.
Amarillo defenseman Rihards Simanovics had five points against the IceRays last weekend, four of which came on Saturday. The Latvian native has seven points in his last four games played and is tied for the team lead in goals with 16 on the year. Look for Simanovics to continue to produce on the Wranglers’ trip to the Coastal Bend this week.
