ICERAYS LAUNCH “GO NUTS! FOR HEART HEALTH” CAMPAIGN

Feb 3, 2016

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays are launching a new campaign called “Go Nuts! For Heart Health” to coincide with Heart Month. The new campaign, led by IceRays forward Adam Canepa, is focused on promoting good heart healthy choices in diet and exercise leading up to the team’s first Heart Night at the end of the month.

“We’re pumped to be able to provide this for our fans and the American Heart Association,” said IceRays general manager Pat Dunn. “We wanted to do something special for February and lead into our Heart Night at the end of the month. With such a great resource in Adam’s family to help us out and the support of the American Heart Association, we think this is a unique way to support heart health, and we can’t thank them enough.”

Starting today, fans can purchase two tickets for the IceRays game on February 27 at just $20 and receive in return a free bag of Setton Farms® Pistachios, which are now certified by the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check Mark Food Certification Program. February 27 is the first Heart Night, presented by AutoNation Ford, Coastal Cardiology Associates, the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, Mattress Firm, and Setton Farms, benefitting the American Heart Association. This package can be ordered only through the IceRays Front Office or American Heart Association. Upon purchase at one of the two locations, fans will receive a bag of pistachios. All proceeds from the campaign will go to the American Heart Association.

Canepa’s family owns a pistachio ranch that has been in the family since his grandfather started it. Now, the ranch is operated by his grandmother and mother. The family, as well as Setton Farms, has offered to supply bags of pistachios for fans who take advantage of the package.

“My family is very happy to help for this campaign,” said Canepa on behalf of his family. “We understand how much Heart Night means to the IceRays organization, and I’m personally pleased to put my name on the cause while bringing a little of California to Corpus Christi.”

This offer lasts until February 27. For more information on the campaign or to purchase the package, please contact the IceRays Front Office at 361-814-7825.
