ICERAYS LOSE 6-2, STILL REMAIN TIED WITH ODESSA

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Jack Prince scored two goals as the Texas Tornado picked up a 6-2 victory spoiling the IceRays final home game of the regular season inside the American Bank Center.

After no scoring in the first period, Prince got the first goal of the night after Mychal Monteith took a shot from the right point.  The rebound found Jack Prince for his 38th goal of the year and Texas led 1-0 just 1:08 into the game.

Brandon Smith tied the game at the 6:53 mark of the first period as he roofed a shot over the shoulder of Tornado goaltender Frederick Leisner.

Prince notched his second goal of the game and 39th of the year after picking up a pass in the slot and shooting a wrist shot past Anthony Stolarz for a 2-1 Texas lead.

The Tornado led 3-1 after the second period courtesy of a Jordan Greenberg power-play goal.

In the third, Corpus Christi pulled within a goal on the power-play.  Jonathan Grebosky scooped up a rebound and beat goaltender Frederick Leisner’s right leg making the score 3-2 Texas.

The Tornado struck right back when Jackson Leef snuck a shot past Anthony Stolarz for a 4-2 lead.  Texas added two more goals to pick up a 6-2 victory.

The IceRays are in action next Friday and Saturday night in Frisco, Texas.  Puck drops at 7:30PM, coverage begins at 7:15PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
