IceRays make only visit to El Paso to meet Rhinos

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Just four games remain this regular season for the Corpus Christi IceRays (34-16-5) coming off a week of losing two out of three to begin their road trip. Still in the heat of battle for 2nd place and a first round bye, the IceRays continue their quest on the road making their first visit to the El Paso County Events Center for a weekend series against the El Paso Rhinos (28-24-3). The last meeting came back in January at the American Bank Center that saw the IceRays sweep the Rhinos capped off by a shootout victory.

BROADCAST / GAME INFORMATION 

The IceRays and Rhinos kick of the series on Friday, March 28, with puck drop scheduled at 8:00 CT followed by the finale on Saturday, March 29, with puck drop at 8:00 CT. Both games will be held at the El Paso County Events Center with tickets available for purchase HERE.  

Fans can catch the games on NATV or listen on Retro Radio Corpus Christi by downloading the Retro Radio Corpus Christi app on your smartphone and hear the “Voice of the IceRays” Joey Erickson all weekend long. The pregame show on NATV and Retro Radio CC will begin 30 minutes prior to puck drop. Wednesday and Fridays game will also be broadcasted on KDF-TV Corpus Christi. 

KING KUZNETSOV

IceRays Forward Stepan Kuznetsov bagged his second straight South Division 1st Star of the Week with another incredible performance last week including a pair of goals in all three games. He added two assists for good measure bringing his total to eight points over the weekend and extending his point streak to a modest five games. Kuznetsov has accumulated 12 goals in his nine games including a hat trick has vaulted him to a team leading 25 goals and one point behind Pierson Sobush for the team scoring title. 

KEMPF COMMITS TO ST. OLAF

IceRays Forward Cody Kempf announced his commitment to St. Olaf College, a NCAA Division III school, located in Northfield, Minnesota on Monday. Kempf has been with the IceRays the last three seasons and has accumulated 33 goals and 59 points including career highs this season in all offensive categories. His next game will be his 150th with the organization making him one of six players in franchise history to hit that mark.
