ICERAYS OPEN 2016 HOME CALENDAR THIS WEEKEND

Jan 19, 2016

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays open the 2016 home calendar schedule starting Thursday with an end-of-week series against the Topeka RoadRunners from the American Bank Center. The series is the final chance to see Topeka during the 2015-16 season and opens a four-game home stand.

The IceRays will play inside the American Bank Center for the first time during 2016 and host their first games since December 29 and 30, a span of exactly three weeks without a home contest. The team returns from a six-game road trip, during which the IceRays took on the top three teams in the South Division, earning a positive 3-2-1 record including a road sweep of the RoadRunners on January 1 and 2 for the first time in junior franchise history and the first three-point road weekend against the Lone Star Brahmas in three seasons coming last Friday and Saturday.

Corpus Christi finishes their eight-game season schedule with the RoadRunners with the first time hosting a weekend set against Topeka in a season. The IceRays have already captured a share of the season series with a 4-1-1 and can claim their first win in the season set in junior franchise history with a victory in one of the next two games. The IceRays have now won three of their last four games against Topeka and split their last home games on October 22 and 24 with a 4-3 win and 2-1 overtime loss.

Thursday night is one of two remaining Winning Weekdays for the 2015-16 season, which means it’s one of the final chances to take advantage of buy-one, get-one free specials. Bring a friend or family member to the game and purchase tickets at the American Bank Center Box Office to pay for two tickets for the price of one. This offer is only available at the box office. Purchase one-dollar beers and sodas on Frosty Friday and stay after the game for a Post-Game Skate, presented by Braselton Homes. Skating is on a first-come, first-serve basis and costs seven dollars with a skate rental and five dollars without. For tickets for either game, call the IceRays Front Office at 361-814-PUCK or visit the American Bank Center Box Office. Tickets are also available at www.Ticketmaster.com or any Ticketmaster location.
