CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays return to the American Bank Center on Friday, February 6 and Saturday, February 7 for a big weekend both on and off the ice when they host the Lone Star Brahmas. Off the ice, the IceRays introduce a new theme night while bringing back a staple of the team’s community commitment.
On Friday, the IceRays open their home weekend with Hockey & Heels Night, presented by Mattress Firm, Prime Real Estate, and The Results Companies, the first promotion of its kind at the American Bank Center. Enjoy a ladies’ night at the game with multiple offerings for female fans in attendance, including boutiques, spas, and jewelry outlets offering promotions and products. In addition, fans can walk the red carpet and have their memories captured, take part in wine tasting and drink specials, and bid on various items in a silent auction. A portion of the evening’s proceeds benefits Peewee’s Pet Adoption World & Sanctuary. Friday also marks another Frosty Friday, in which fans can purchase select beers and sodas for $1.
The IceRays close out the weekend on Saturday with one of the biggest events of the season: the 8th annual Stars & Stripes Night, presented by Whataburger and First Title Company. The IceRays organization has continued their commitment to giving back to the community and honoring those who protect and serve the Corpus Christi area and the nation. Members of the armed forces, law enforcement, and first responders have been invited to join the team through the evening’s events as a token of appreciation. The IceRays will be wearing military-themed jerseys during both games and will be available to bid on in the Eddie Jackson Post-Game Jersey Auction following Saturday’s game. Saturday is also a Corpus Christi Caller-Times Family 4-Pack Night, where fans can buy four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas for just $46, and the IceRays welcome local boy scout troops during and following the game for the annual Boy Scout Sleepover.
On the ice, the IceRays will host the Lone Star Brahmas for the first full weekend of play in the 2014-15 season. Thanks to the IceRays’ strong month of January and key losses by the Brahmas, this weekend’s matchup becomes a chance for the IceRays to close in on third place for the first time since the middle of November, when an off-weekend slid the team from second to fourth in the division. Currently, the IceRays are seven points behind the Brahmas for third place with a four-point series upcoming. Coverage on both nights begin at 6:50 p.m. on SportsJuice.com, FASTHockey.com, and 87.7 FM in-arena with the opening faceoff at 7:05 p.m.
