CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – After a convincing win in the season opener the Corpus Christi IceRays (1-0-0) head to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a three-game series against the New Mexico Ice Wolves (0-0-0). The Ice Wolves will kick off their season and series at the Outpost Ice Arenas on Friday, Sept. 20 with puck drop at 7:30 CT. Saturday’s contest is set for a 7:30 CT start followed by 3:00 CT on Sunday.

CORPUS KUZNETSOV
Forward Stephan Kuznetsov helped spur the IceRays to victory in Shreveport with a pair of goals last Saturday. Bringing his total to 46 career goals with Corpus Christi setting a franchise record passing Eric Purcell who had 45 from 2011-14. Kuznetsov will also have a chance to break the All-Time Games Played record if he plays at least 35 games this season.
A LOOK BACK
Corpus Christi and New Mexico have met a total of 30 times since the Ice Wolves joined the NAHL in 2019. The IceRays are 12-12-6 all time versus the Ice Wolves after going 1-5-2 last season. Corpus Christi was better on the road last season with a record of 12-15-3 despite losing three out of four in New Mexico last season.
POINT PELTON
Second year Forward Troy Pelton picked up two assists on both of Kuznetsov’s goals in Shreveport last weekend. Dating back to last season, Pelton has a modest three game point streak accumulating five points during that stretch.
