ICERAYS SET FOR STARS & STRIPES NIGHT

Nov 30, 2011

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi IceRays are preparing for what is sure to be a memorable night this Friday night inside the American Bank Center at 7:05PM.

The IceRays are yet again hosting “Stars & Stripes Night” tomorrow night as Corpus Christi takes the ice with the Topeka Roadrunners for the first time this season.

“Stars and Stripes Night with the IceRays is always a very special night, said GM Pat Dunn.  “That is the least we could do for the men and women that keep us safe. We also can't thank our sponsors, Whataburger and First American Title for their generosity.”

The IceRays have been giving out free tickets to all military personnel, police officers, emergency responders, border and custom patrol, and their families in order to honor their services.

“The entire organization is excited about "Stars and Stripes Night" here this Friday not only for the hype of the crowd, but more importantly to pay tribute to all those in the country for their invaluable services” said head coach Justin Quenneville.

That night will also give fans the opportunity to help the hungry as the holiday inches closer.  Fans will receive a free ticket for Saturday’s home game for every five canned food items donated.

Quenneville continued, “this is an important tradition for us to continue to show commitment to community service, charitable involvement and awareness in so many ways that need to be recognized as well as supported.  In addition, the team will be holding a food drive during the game which we are excited about as well.  I am fortunate to be part of an organization who generously donates so much time and money to our community and charities.”

The IceRays take on the Topeka Roadrunners for a pair of home games this Friday and Saturday night.  Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
