ICERAYS STREAK ENDS WITH 5-2 LOSS

WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS – The Wichita Falls Wildcats scored five unanswered goals defeating the Corpus Christi IceRays, ending their six game winning streak by a final score of 5-2.

The IceRays scored the fastest two goals in franchise history, just eight seconds apart to take the first period lead.  Perry DArrisso scored the first goal for Corpus Christi 7:25 into the first period of play beating goaltender Matt Leon top shelf for a 1-0 lead.  Eric Purcell scored eight seconds later, at the 7:33 mark of the first period as he too scored top shelf giving the IceRays a 2-0 advantage

Wichita Falls stormed back in the second period as Dennis Kravchenko beat Anthony Stolarz 13:12 into the second period to pull the Wildcats within one goal.

Renato Engler on the penalty kill scored 15:44 into the second frame for a shorthanded goal to tie the game at two apiece.

In the third period Wichita Falls turned on the firepower scoring three goals to pick up a 5-2 victory.  Tyler hope picked up the game winning goal 11:11 into the third period giving the Wildcats their fourth win of the season.

Anthony Stolarz stopped 35 of 40 shots in the loss.

The IceRays come back to Wichita Falls next Friday and Saturday night as they once again take on the Wildcats.  Puck drops at 7:05PM, pregame show kicks off at 6:50PM with the voice of your IceRays Rob Lippolis, on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
