Corpus Christi Adds Offensive Threat with Junior Experience
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Corpus Christi IceRays are proud to announce the tendering of forward Michael Azzarone for the 2026-27 season.
Azzarone, a 5-foot-9, 163-pound right winger from Seymour, Connecticut, joins the IceRays after playing last season in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). The 2006-born forward split the season the Spruce Grove Saints and Powell River Kings appearing in 46 total games where he posted a combined 11 goals and 23 points.
“Michael is a player we identified early in the process,” said IceRays Head Coach Nick Skerlick. “He brings a high compete level, plays with pace, and has shown the ability to produce offensively while leading by example. We’re excited to welcome him to Corpus Christi and look forward to helping him continue his development.”
Prior to his junior career, Azzarone developed with the Elite Hockey Academy 18U AAA program where he was known for his offensive instincts, leadership qualities, and consistent production throughout his youth career.
The addition of Azzarone continues the IceRays commitment to building a competitive roster featuring high-character players with the talent and work ethic necessary to succeed in the North American Hockey League.
