ICERAYS TRADE LINDGREN, TENDER TUCKER BENDER

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – The Corpus Christi IceRays have traded goaltender Andrew Lindgren to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs in exchange for a 2015 tender, which has been used to acquire defenseman Tucker Bender Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), IceRays Director of Hockey Operations John Becanic announced today.

Lindgren, 19, appeared in 44 games with the IceRays during the 2014-15 season, recording a 22-17-3 record with a 3.04 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage including two shutouts. The Minneapolis, Minn., native finished the regular season ranked eighth in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) in wins and ranks second in IceRays junior franchise history in single-season wins as well as third in career wins. He was drafted in the seventh round (140th overall) by the IceRays in the 2014 NAHL Draft.

Bender, 19, appeared in 66 games for the Oilers during the 2014-15 season, recording five goals and 11 assists for 16 points with 42 penalty minutes. Previous to joining junior hockey, the Snohomish, Wash., native played 52 games with Shattuck St. Mary’s Midget Prep in high school, recording three goals and 14 assists for 17 points with 29 penalty minutes. Bender joins eight other skaters on the IceRays 2015 tender list, including defensemen Michael Bevilacqua (T1EHL), Shane Kelly (T1EHL), and Chaz Thomas (T1EHL) as well as forwards Nicholas Bortolotto (NAPHL), Andrew McGlynn (NA3HL), Brendan Miller (T1EHL), Jimmy O’Brien (HPHL), and Landon Quinney (NAPHL).
