CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Corpus Christi IceRays are proud to announce that defenseman Marc-Alexandre Richard has committed to Alvernia University to continue his academic and athletic career at the NCAA Division III level.
Richard’s commitment marks the next step in a junior hockey journey defined by consistency, leadership, and dedication to development. During his time with the IceRays, the blueliner established himself as a reliable presence on the back end, contributing to all situations while helping anchor the team’s defensive corps.
“Marc-Alexandre has earned this opportunity through his work ethic and commitment to improving every day,” said IceRays Assistant Coach Ryan Gil. “He’s been a tremendous teammate and leader in our locker room. We’re excited to see him continue his hockey career while receiving an excellent education at Alvernia.”
Known for his strong skating ability, defensive awareness, and willingness to compete in all areas of the ice, Richard played an important role in the IceRays lineup throughout his junior career. His development on and off the ice exemplifies the organization’s mission of preparing student-athletes for success at the collegiate level.
“I’d like to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone with the IceRays organization for helping me reach this point,” said Richard. “Corpus Christi has played a huge role in my development as a player and person. I’m excited for the opportunity to attend Alvernia University and continue competing at the collegiate level.”
Located in Reading, Pennsylvania, Alvernia University competes in NCAA Division III men’s hockey and is a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference. The Golden Wolves have continued to grow their program while providing student-athletes with a strong balance of academics and athletics.
Richard becomes the latest IceRay to advance to the collegiate ranks, continuing the organization’s tradition of helping players achieve their educational and hockey goals.
