MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI ICERAYS

Dec 24, 2013

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi IceRays players and staff want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!  The players are all surrounded by family and friends for the holiday season.

“It feels good to be home with my family,” said Jake McNamara.  “We've been watching movies, making cookies, and playing games. It's great to have the whole family together for the holidays.”

For some, getting in some outdoor hockey is a must during the time home.  IceRays forward Tony Roisum is excited to be back skating on the ponds where it all began.  “Feels good to be home and spend time with my family and play some outdoor hockey with my brother, and enjoy the holidays.”

Luke McDiarmid is looking forward to getting back with his old high-school team for their annual alumni game.  “It feels great to be back home for Christmas and to have a break from the season. I've been catching up with all of my close friends and playing in my high-school alumni game and seeing all my family.”

“Family comes first as we always say, and for most of us this is our first time home in over four months,” said Grant Hutton.  “It's an amazing feeling to be home and finally spending some time with our loved ones over the holidays.  On top of that it's a great time to nurse injuries and rest our bodies as well.  We are more than thankful to go home and spend some much needed time with our families and friends and enjoy Christmas with those who have been there supporting us from the beginning.”

“Spending every waking minute with my wife and kids,” said head coach John Becanic.  “Simple things like watching a movie or sitting by the fireplace at Starbucks helps me forget about any worries I have.”

The IceRays return home this Friday night for Game 2 of the South Texas Vo Tech Cup vs. Rio Grande Valley.  Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on Sportsjuice.com, ustream.com, and fasthockey.com.  Click “Listen Live” on the IceRays website for more information!
