The 21-year old defenseman also led the NAHL last season with 246 penalty minutes.

"I had the great pleasure of coaching Travis and Tyler during their minor hockey days back on the Cape." says Assistant General Manager and Assistant Coach David Monteiro.  "It is a real honor and privilege to be coaching them again. They are both extremely talented players and exciting to watch as their experience and dedication are second to none. I am very happy to have the boys here with us in Berlin."

Bennett, 23, comes to Berlin after being selected in the 4th round of the FHL Expansion Draft. The 5'10" forward from Burlington, ON enjoyed his rookie season with the Watertown Wolves where he was second overall in team scoring with 70 points (32 goals, 38 assists) and contributed a goal and seven assists in the playoffs before going on to win the Commissioner's Cup. "Chad is a guy that does the little things right and knows where to go on the ice.", says Monteiro.  "He has an exceptional skill set that can help complement others around him, a good hockey IQ and leadership qualities that you don't often find in younger players. Chad is a great addition to the team and I am excited to have him with us.".  Prior to turning pro, Chad spent three years of junior hockey with the Brampton Capitals and Aurora Tigers (OJHL) before playing two seasons of collegiate hockey at Fredonia University.

The River Drivers begin their inaugural season in the FHL hosting last season’s Commissioner’s Cup runner ups, the Danville (IL) Dashers on November 14th, starting at 7pm at the Notre Dame Arena.
