Two IceRays Bring Home Honors For NAHL Stars of the Week

Nov 9, 2021

Coming off of a split in New Mexico, two IceRays received honors in this week’s NAHL Stars of the Week.

Stefan Carney took home the South Division’s 2nd Star of the Week thanks to his performance on Saturday in Albuquerque. In the game, Carney stopped 35 of 36 Ice Wolves shots on goal and earned his first win on the season.  The win was also the IceRays first road win of the season, and it came against one of the top three teams in the division.

Jude Kurtas was an honorable mention for the South Division’s honors.  Kurtas scored a pair of goals in the win on Saturday evening including the game winning goal.  Prior to the two goals on Saturday, Kurtas had been on a nine-game point draught.  Kurtas snapped that in style and moved into double digits in points on the season.

The IceRays are back at home this weekend to face off against the El Paso Rhinos.  It’s a big weekend at American Bank Center with Stars and Stripes Night headlining the weekend on Saturday night.  There is also a food drive to support the Coastal Bend Food Bank on Friday as well.  More information on both nights can be found on the graphics at the end of the article.  Get your tickets now on Ticketmaster or at the American Bank Center box office.

If you’re unable to make it to the games this weekend at ABC, you can still take in the action this weekend.  Both games will be aired on both HockeyTV and Brewster Street Radio.  Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 on both nights.
