Two IceRays Given Honors For NAHL Stars of Week

The IceRays may not have gotten the results that they were searching for last weekend in Amarillo, but two IceRays did received honors for this week’s NAHL Stars of the Week.

The first IceRay to receive honors for NAHL Stars of the Week was Charlie Merkley.  The alternate captain found his way to his first goal of the season on Saturday night after deflecting in a shot from the point.  Merkley has been close this season but finally broke through on the second Corpus Christi goal of the game in Amarillo.

Nathan Butler is the second Corpus player to receive honors this week.  Butler was apart of both IceRays goals on Saturday night scoring the first and assisting on the second.  The points extend Butler’s team leading point total to fifteen on the season.

Catch Butler, Merkley, and the rest of the IceRays back at home this weekend at American Bank Center as they host the Wichita Falls Warriors.  Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm on both Friday and Saturday night. If you are unable to make it to the games, you can catch both games live on Brewster Street Radio and HockeyTV.
