CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – Corpus Christi IceRays goaltender Tomáš Vomáčka has been named to the NHL Central Scouting’s preliminary players to watch list in North America and Europe this morning.

The players selected on the list is Central Scouting’s top prospects from all major developmental leagues in North America and Europe. Players are rated on a graded scale with an “A” rating for potential 1st round draft picks, “B” rating for possible 2nd and 3rd round selections, “C” rating for 4th, 5th and 6th round candidates, and “LV” for injured players without sufficient viewing time. 29 players were listed as “A” rated players with only three coming in USA Hockey programs.

Vomáčka, 17, is one of 10 players currently in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) to be named to the watch list ahead of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft in Chicago, Ill. Of all NAHL listings, Vomáčka is the only player to be listed with a “B” rating while all other prospects are listed as “C” ratings. The Trutnov, Czech Republic native is the fourth-highest ranked player in both developmental leagues in the United States including the NAHL and USHL. He was previously listed on the 2017 NHL Central Scouting Futures List in July ahead of the 20161-7 season.

Vomáčka becomes just the second player in IceRays junior franchise history to make the watch list, following Anthony Stolarz (‘11-’12) prior to being selected in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Stolarz was drafted 45th overall (2nd Round) by the Philadelphia Flyers out of Corpus Christi.

Through six games this season, Vomáčka owns a 2-3-1 record with a 3.30 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage.
