CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi IceRays are pleased to announce that Beau Walker will be returning for the 2011-12 campaign.  Walker, 19, returns to the team after being drafted by the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL, but was released during the training camp cut in Iowa.

Last year for the IceRays, Walker led the team with 62 points in 56 games.  He was second on the team in goals with 21 and first in helpers with 41 assists.

“It’s a bittersweet day for the IceRays and Beau Walker,” according to Pat Dunn, GM of the IceRays.  “How can we not be excited to have such a talented player come back to our team.  I hope Beau is in good spirits and sees this as an opportunity for him and his career moving forward.”

Walker finished ninth in the NAHL in assists and tied for 13thin points.  The forward was also named to the 2010-11 All-South Division Team as selected by the league’s coaches and general managers.

The IceRays kick off the 2011 NAHL Showcase tomorrow afternoon at 4:45PM as they take on Dawson Creek.   All games can be seen on fasthockey.com.
