Weekend Recap: IceRays Swept By Amarillo

Dec 11, 2021

The IceRays hosted the Amarillo Wranglers for their last home series before the holidays. Big crowds were had at American Bank Center, especially Friday night for the annual Teddy Bear toss.

On Thursday, a low-scoring affair was had between the two sides as only three goals were scored in the game.  It was the Wranglers striking on the man advantage in the first and second period.  The two special team goals built a lead that the IceRays were unable to climb back from. Stepan Kuznetsov added a goal with an extra attacker on the ice as the lone goal of the evening for Corpus Christi.

Friday night, it was the power play of Amarillo striking multiple times once again.  The five power play goals on the weekend for the Wranglers put them back in the number one spot in the league.

Dom Foglia scored for the IceRays, which brought a ton of Teddy Bears to the ice for local charities and children.  It was the only goal of the night for the IceRays who fell for the second straight game.

The Rays will have a chance to bounce back on Friday night against the second place Odessa Jackalopes.  Puck drop is scheduled for 7:15 pm both nights on Brewster Street Radio and HockeyTV.

The IceRays broadcast will only be found on Brewster Street Radio, so if you plan on watching the game on HockeyTV, we recommend you sync up our coverage on Brewster Street Radio with the action going on your screen.
