Whataburger and the IceRays have agreed to present a public skating event at the American Bank Center on Tuesday, February 6th from 6-8:30 pm CT. Proceeds from the skate will go towards benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend.

Whataburger has been servicing the Corpus Christi area and beyond for over six decades, delighting their patrons with their 100% pure beef burgers and their toasty five-inch buns. They have extended their generosity to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend by presenting this public skate, and by offering complimentary Whataburger coupons to all skating participants.

“We’re proud to partner with the IceRays to provide a fun, family-friendly event for a really great cause,” said Whataburger Director of Operations Joseph Lukefahr. “The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend do so much to help young people build character, and we consider it a privilege to invest in their work.”

The Boys & Girls Clubs have three locations in the Coastal Bend, including the Greenwood Unit, the Robstown Unit, and London Elementary. They were first founded in Corpus Christi in 1957, with the vision of enabling young men and women to reach their potential as productive, thoughtful and responsible individuals. Today, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend serve approximately 5,000 youth annually through their after-school and summer programs.

Those seeking to attend the public skate are asked to visit the southern end of the American Bank Center and enter through the doors on Resaca Street. Skating is $10 per person and includes a coupon for a free Whataburger voucher. For any questions, contact the IceRays office at (361) 814-PUCK.

In the IceRays’ 20th anniversary season, we are proud to expand on our history of supporting the community. We expect this event to not only strengthen the ever-growing bond between ourselves and our city, but also to make a positive impact on the lives of young people throughout the Coastal Bend.

The IceRays will return to action on Thursday, February 8th at the American Bank Center when they host the Lone Star Brahmas at 7:05 pm CT. Admission to the game is $2 for all. Tickets are available through the IceRays’ website, or by calling the team office at (361) 814-PUCK. The game will be broadcast on HockeyTV.com and on YouTube.
