WICHITA FALLS, TX – The Wichita Falls Wildcats won their second game in a row over the Corpus Christi IceRays 2-1 inside the Kay Yeager Coliseum in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The Wildcats kicked off the scoring just ten seconds into the game as Jake Webber took a shot from the point, hit an IceRays player in front of the net, and squeaked by goaltender Anthony Stolarz to give Wichita Falls a 1-0 lead.
The IceRays tied on shorthanded. Corpus Christi took a penalty 16:24 into the first period as Mychal Monteith went off for slashing. Joe Ginley dropped a pass back to Travis Maxwell who scored his first goal of the year 16:51 into the first period to tie the game 1-1.
No scoring in the second period until the 17:24 mark of the period, Jason Eddy picked up a rebound in front if the net sliding in under the diving Anthony Stolarz for the lone goal of the second period, and a 2-1Wildcat advantage.
The Wildcats held off a late push by the IceRays after pulling goaltender Anthony Stolarz for the 2-1 victory.
Stolarz stopped 29 of 32 shots in the loss.
The IceRays are in action tomorrow night as they once again take on the Wichita Falls Wildcats. Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
