ICERAYS CRUSH TEXAS IN FIGHT-FILLED GAME

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The Corpus Christi IceRays won their fourth game in a row taking out the Texas Tornado 4-1 during a fight-filled game in front of 4,387 fans inside the American Bank Center.

Corpus Christi took the lead over Texas midway through the first period as Joe Ginley took a drop pass and beat Joakim Jutras to take a 1-0 advantage over the Tornado 10:13 into period one.

The IceRays led 1-0 after 20 minutes, however the Tornado tied the game on the power-play courtesy of Jordan Lovick who beat Anthony Stolarz top shelf tying the game 1-1.

The IceRays picked up a power-play goal for themselves on a two man advantage.  Beau Walker took a shot and Perry D’Arrisso fired it in electrifying the crowd as Corpus Christi took a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes of action.

Starting the third period Michael Dery wrapped a puck around the back of the net beating Jutras 5:04 into the third period increasing the lead 3-1. 

Joe Smereck capped off the scoring 7:16 into the final period with goal number eight on the season.  Things got physical as Perry D’Arrisso got jumped starting an all-out brawl that resulted in 77 penalty minutes.

Anthony Stolarz stopped 33 of 34 shots as the IceRays won their fourth straight game.

The IceRays are on the road this upcoming weekend as they take on the Wichita Falls Wildcats.  Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
