CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – Three more members of the Corpus Christi IceRays were featured in today's North American Hockey League Plays of the Week released on the league's YouTube channel, NAHL TV. Forwards Nate Colwell, Connor Kelly and Tanner Lomsnes were selected as part of the team's weekend sweep of the Wenatchee Wild from the American Bank Center.
Colwell scored what would become the game-winning goal at 15:45 of the 2nd period in his first game as as IceRay in Friday's 4-3 victory over the Wild. Colwell stuffed home a rebound while streaking in from the left point after defenseman Anthony Cortese's shot was saved. Colwell would add an assist the next night.
Kelly's footage is the final clip of the montage and also was the final goal of the weekend, coming at 13:48 of the third period in the team's 2-1 win over the Wild on Saturday. Another chance off a rebound, Kelly came into the slot and backhanded a shot passed the waiting netminder. It was Kelly's first goal of the season.
Lomsnes gave the IceRays a 1-0 lead at 17:56 of the first period in Saturday's 2-1 win on the power play. Cortese and forward Wes Michaud passed across the ice to find Lomsnes wide open in the right circle for a one-time slap shot. That was the fourth goal for Lomsnes on the year and his first on the power play.
In total, 13 players from around the NAHL were featured. The video can be found below. For more information on the NAHL, click here.
